Parents & Carers
Parenting Together. You’re not on your own!
Sometimes parenting isn’t easy, so we want to look after our parents and carers at The Nook too! Depending on your time and needs, we have online and in person one-to-one sessions.
Therapeutic Parenting
Finding Your Path
Parenting is not a one-size-fits-all approach; what works for one child doesn’t necessarily work for another! Finding Your Path is created and managed by Ali, who has offered parenting support for several years at the Trauma Recovery Centre in Oxford, helping parents with young people who have experienced trauma. As a foster carer herself, she has experienced the benefits of therapeutic parenting and has supported other foster carers in recognising these benefits too.
This five-week course will introduce you to the basics of therapeutic parenting: what it is, how it works, why it works, and how it might suit you. There is no shaming or judgement; it is simply a great opportunity to find support and encouragement, and consider which parenting approach may suit you and your family.
This course is open to anyone parenting a young person, including foster carers, kinship carers, grandparents, and more. You are all very welcome to join us.
In-person or online 5-week course - £125 per person, per course.
Online one-to-one sessions - £50 per hour.
