Care Experienced Young People
Having fostered for over a decade, Ali, founder of The Nook, recognises how important it is for young people in care to have a sense of belonging. Being in care often involves numerous moves and changes, making it hard for a young person to find that special place. She hopes The Nook will become a space where care-experienced young people feel they belong.
Therapeutic Mentoring
Therapeutic mentoring is a compassionate, relationship-centred approach developed to guide individuals, especially young people, through personal challenges and help them reach positive growth. It beautifully blends mentoring with therapeutic techniques to support emotional, behavioural, or social struggles.
At The Nook, we offer therapeutic mentoring groups or bespoke one-to-one sessions using art and creative writing as a way to engage with young people.
If you have a care-experienced young person or work with a young person who you believe would benefit from all we offer at The Nook, please do get in contact using the form below.
For many young people with care experience, creative activities provide a crucial outlet for self-expression, emotional healing, and personal development. From art and music to writing and drama, creativity can assist these young people in making sense of their experiences, building confidence, and establishing positive connections with carers and peers.
