Care Experienced Young People

As a foster parent for over a decade, Ali, founder of The Nook, has seen how important it is for young people in care to have a place to belong. Being in care can mean a lot of moves and changes, and sometimes it’s hard for a young person to find that special place.  She hopes The Nook will become a place where care-experienced young people feel they belong. A place to regularly meet new friends, grow in self-worth, feel safe and valued, all whilst having fun and getting creative.

If you have a young person you would like to refer to any of the sessions on offer, or would like to book a more bespoke 1-1 session, please contact us here.

Saturday Creative Meetup’s

Every Saturday morning during term time, The Nook will hold ‘Creative Meetup’s where care-experienced young people can enjoy friendship, fun, and creativity with hot chocolate from Dude’s Cafe. (Other drinks are available, but hot chocolate is a firm favourite!).

Saturdays:

10am - 11am – Younger Teens & Tweens (11-15)

11:15am - 12:15pm – Older Teens (16-18)

There is an excellent selection of cafes close by (including Dudes Cafe at The Nook), where parents and foster parents can grab a coffee and take a few minutes to relax.

Care Leavers

If you are a care leaver or know a care leaver who would love the opportunity to have a creative session at The Nook, please do get in touch to discuss the groups or one-on-one creative activities on offer.
