Welcome to The Nook
A nurturing, creative space for young people and adults in the heart of Oxfordshire.
Creativity for Wellbeing
The Nook supports young people who need a small, calm, gentle space to create, learn and flourish.
At The Nook, we believe creativity is a fantastic way to engage with young people who are struggling in the school environment or with life events. Using our experience and expertise, we have designed creative activities that support young people’s emotional, social, and mental wellbeing.
We offer a combination of therapeutic art and creative writing sessions to explore their world, life events and emotions.
We genuinely want to see every young person flourish.
‘When a flower doesn’t bloom, you fix the environment in which it grows, not the flower.’ Alexander Den Heijer
The Nook in Eynsham
At The Nook in Eynsham, we are delighted to offer a therapeutic extension to the outstanding creative work the team at Jessie’s Art Shed already provides. The Nook is a calm, creative space that allows small groups (max 6) to spend time together creating, building friendships, growing in confidence, and flourishing.
At the Nook, we offer two forms of therapeutic creativity: art and creative writing. Using these forms, we have created a unique timetable of daily events to choose from during term time and workshops during holiday time. 1-1 personalised therapeutic sessions and bespoke groups are also available upon request.
We are trauma and neurodiversity informed and trained to work therapeutically with young people using the creative arts.
The Nook in Standlake
The Nook in Standlake is dedicated to creative writing as therapy for individuals or small groups.
Set in peaceful surroundings, it provides a calm sanctuary to explore life events such as loss, grief, gratitude, family, identity, and emotions through carefully guided creative writing. It is for adults and young people 12+.
‘I can shake off everything as I write, my sorrows disappear, my courage is reborn.’
